Mental resilience in a soccer player involves a player’s ability to bounce back from setbacks, maintain focus under pressure, or handle challenges with a positive attitude. We are required to perform consistently well in high-stress situations and to learn from failures without getting discouraged. Resilient players can stay calm, control their emotions, and focus on what’s important, even when facing negative thoughts and self-doubt.

Resilience is a concept, and it is suggested to be, developed over a longer-period of time when individuals or groups face situations, encouraging the need to overcome and deal with adversity.

Are you an individual on the field or are you a team player? D0 you create the gaps and the break-throughs in the game? Are you the person who can discipline a side and and keep order on the field? Do you get very emotional on the field or do you keep your composure?

When faced with emotional, physical or mental challenges, the pressure to succeed will eventually have a negative impact unless people have the tools to prepare for, adapt to and respond to setbacks.
